Question Asked By: Jordan
Age: 14

Q:

Dear mom I was wondering if hypnotic tapes that cause wetting and messing in diapers only can cause full incontinence over time

A:

Dear Jordan,

One of the problems with hypnotic tapes is they don't always work. You have to be susceptible to being hypnotized. If you are not, it's like someone is yelling a suggestion at you. However if they do work it is possible to become incontinent. But again if you at some point in the future wish to regain control you will have to find a tape and/or therapist that can reverse the effects of the first tape. Hope this info helps.

Question Asked By: Chris
Age: 18

Q:

Dear mommy, I have three questions... the first one is what would be the the best pull up and baby diaper to try? The second is how can I explain that I don't just wear for bed wetting but like to wear them? And finally what is the best way to  get my mom to check me or change me at night or in the morning? Should I just ask her to? Advice would be great thanks. Chris

A:

Dear Chris,

There are many good diapers out on the market. If you are small enough in size you could try Goodnites or Huggies cool alert and Huggies nighttime. They go up to 5T and sides pull off for easy removal. As for having to explain why you wear- why should you? You like it and that's the end of the story. Why should it matter to someone else what is covering your butt. Now for the loaded question- your Mom. As I always say only you know your mom. Is she an accepting kind of person? If not you might want to rethink the telling her about your diapers. Also even if you do tell her and she accepts it, the chances of her participating in checking and changing you are very slim. Many adults find it hard to understand diapers. What you need to do is think long and hard as to whether you want to tell her. I wish you luck.

Question Asked By: Jason
Age: 14

Q:

Should I tell my parents about me being a diaper lover and what if I get married and my wife finds out?

A:

Dear Jason,

Everyone always wants to tell their parents and I always say the same thing- are they understanding people? If not you might want to rethink telling them. Alot of people don't understand it and find it hard to accept. Now I would like to assume that if you were getting married that you had been honest about everything in your life with your girlfriend/fiance. A marriage has to be built on trust and love. If you don't trust the person enough to tell them you shouldn't be marrying them.

Question Asked By: Josh
Age: 23

Q:

Dear Mommy, If I don't want someone to find out about my diapers and they do what should I do?

A:

Dear Josh,

Unfortunately once the news is out you can't take it back. You have one of three choices: one is to admit that you wear diapers and explain why you do- be honest. Second is to admit you wear diapers but say it's a joke on that person- make it so the person thinks it was a gag on them. And the third choice is to outright lie and say you don't wear and where did they hear such a thing. Depending on who the person is will color how you respond. My personal advice is this, if the person who discovers this info is someone you care about, be honest with them. It is easier than trying to deceive them. And if the person is just someone you know- who cares what their opinion is anyway. I wish you only good things.

Question Asked By: Thomas
Age: 14

Q:

Is it weird to be a diaper

A:

Dear Thomas,

Some people think being a diaper lover is strange. My answer is this- how can something that makes you feel better about things be a wrong thing. You are not weird. Be proud of who you are. Wearing a diaper makes you no less of a person than someone wearing cowboy boots, the only difference is one is on the feet and the other is on the posterior. So stand tall, because in my book you are perfect just as you are.

Question Asked By: James K.
Age: 19

Q:

Dear Mommy,

This is not a question, but rather a piece of advice I thought I should share. I've seen people asking what is the best way to become incontinent, or at least able to use a diaper.

Conventional wisdom states that you should just not use the bathroom. However, that is a mistake. I've found the best way is to use the bathroom, but not in the traditional way.

See, the problem is, people build up a mental block about wetting and messing because they think they need to use the toilet for that kind of stuff. I find it helps if, when you need to go, you go into the bathroom and sit on the toilet, while keeping your diaper on.

This tricks your brain into thinking you are on the toilet, which you are, and lets you go in your diaper. After a while, the brain gets the idea that it's okay to use the diaper. In this way, the toilet+diaper idea acts as a transitional stage.

I hope this helps someone who needs it. I know it did for me. :)

Dear James,

Thanks for that tip. I get letters every month on how to do that. I know that many members would find it easier with your advice. Thanks again.

Question Asked By: Baby Teen

Q:

Hello Mommy, I live in Washington and have all my life. I know that there is a lot of AB/TB/DL's out there but I can hardly find any living in Washington. There's a few in eastern WA but I live in western. Any advice on finding out how to locate/contact someone like me would be much appreciated

   Thank You

A:

Dear Baby Teen,

There are many AB/TB/DL's out there. The problem is some are hesitant about broadcasting that fact. The only ones we know of directly are the ones who have signed up on our forum. You could try putting a little request in the friend's section and see what or who pops up.

Question Asked By: Lily
Age: 13

Q:

Hi mommy, When I really started getting into diapers (probably a year ago) I started to dream of me being in diapers or my family diapering me. Is that normal? I mean I enjoy the dreams and remember them all perfectly. How can I dream more about me being a baby is there an actual way to do that?

A:

Dear Lily,

You are perfectly normal- don't ever change. When you like something and want it, it is normal to end up dreaming about it. In your case part of your dream can come true! There isn't any way to make yourself dream about a certain topic. The most you can do is to just think on it as you are falling asleep and hope for the best. Good luck.

Question Asked By: Lily
Age: 13

Q:

I am in a sticky situation because I live with my mom and dad and my 18 year old brother. So I want to know a way to make home made diapers. It has to be a way no one will find out. I can put it myself and no one knows I'm doing it. I can lock my door and can go into the bathroom so privacy is not a problem. How do you make a make shift diaper out of things I would have around the house other then towels?

Thanks

A:

Dear Lily,

There really isn't anything else you could use. My only other suggestion would be to take a pillow case and split the sides, you would then have to put in something absorbent- a hand towel, washcloth, or perhaps an old T-shirt, then take a garbage bag and attach to the outside of the pillow case and then put on. If the sides of the pillow case do not meet on the sides, pin fabric to both end pieces and pull snug so it stays on. Hope this helps.

Question Asked By: Embarrassed
Age: 36

Q:

Dear mommy, I took your advice about my diaper need where you suggested I should switch between diaper, and nothing every other night. Well last night was the final straw. I wasn't in my diaper when I had a dream my family bought me pampers size 11. That was a nice dream, pampers actually had specialty diapers. Though I think size 11 would be too big. lol! In the dream as soon as I put on the diaper, I released into it from both ends. Needless to say when I awoke it was a mess. The potty dreams keep happening, and I think it be best to wake up with a full diaper instead of a messy bed. So today my diaper drawer is full. No potty training for another year. I think my mind is telling me I'm not ready yet. That must be the reason why I'm having potty dreams night in, and night out. For a boy who has night time accidents from both ends should I use a booster? Is this a common practice for night time diapering? Do you suggest this every night? How do you prepare a baby for the night. Well it's bed time, which means it's time get undressed, and get into my disposable diaper. Wish they were pampers, but at least the diaper is a replica plain white diaper. At least pampers is slowly making progress. Their up to size 7, just two more sizes would do it.

A:

Dear Embarrassed,

Sorry to hear of your wash day blues. I do believe you were correct when you said perhaps it wasn't time yet to potty train. Nighttime use is the perfect time to use a booster. During the day you can change at will and as frequently as you wish. At night however your body has you sleeping for 6-8 hours- no chance of a change and so you end up leaking. So boost away and slip into a contented sleep because the bed will be dry in the morning while you may not be. 8)

Question Asked By: Dan
Age: 17

Q:

Is there any DL mommy's in Saint John, New Brunswick that I could go to their house and just be myself. And they could buy and change my diapers? I would love to wear them.

A:

Dear Dan,

We have a roster of mommy's/daddy's that have signed up with their location. You could try there as a starting point. You also need to ask anyone who is a DL if they know of any mommies near to you. When you find one, they most likely will not interact with you until you are 18 due to legal issues. To find a mommy that will purchase your diapers and change you is a challenge. I wish you luck.

Question Asked By: Todd
Age: 19

Q:

I've had for a long time wanted to get off my chest all of my secrets about my diaper fetish. I have a therapist that is non-judgmental, is good and cares about me, however I'm embarrassed to tell her I like to essentially go to the bathroom in my diaper. That's the same reason I don't tell my parents is because I'm embarrassed even though I know they probably wouldn't care. How do I get over this embarrassment?

A:

Dear Todd,

You have nothing to be embarrassed about. So what if you like diapers and using them- I know someone (me) that loves pocket books and changes them almost daily. The difference? None- they are both fetishes. Things that we like. Now you said your therapist is non-judgmental, she might get it. At any rate, whether someone accepts it or not, you are still going to keep wearing. So don't be embarrassed, stand tall and say 'I wear diapers and I like it". They can like it or hate it- their choice. But in the mean time you can breathe a little easier getting it off your chest. And in the end if someone really cares they will at least try to make an effort to understand. Well that's this woman's opinion.

Question Asked By: Melanie
Age: 22

Q:

What's the difference between changing a toddler boy's diaper and a toddler girl's diaper? I've only changed girls and pretty soon I'm going to have to baby sit a little boy that still wears diapers.

A:

Dear Melanie,

The only difference is a little boy's equipment may be loaded. When I use to change my son, when I took off the old diaper I would still have it just laying over his genital area. So if he decided to become a fountain it would be in the diaper and not on me. I would proceed to clean, powder and then put on a fresh diaper. The first time my husband changed our son he left him exposed and - you guessed it- the boy hosed him! I laughed and told him "How could you not know he'd do that. You have the same equipment!" He couldn't live it down for months. I hope this tip helps you.

Question Asked By: James
Age: 19

Q:

Dear Mommy, I want to wear diapers, but I can't decide between disposable and cloth. Disposable diapers are very comfy, and familiar, but I've never tried cloth diapers, and there's the added advantage of there's a less chance of them being 'intercepted'. My question to you: which do you recommend, cloth or disposable diapers?

A:

Dear James,

The answer is really one of preference. Both have pros and cons. Disposables are great for the no fuss lifestyle. You put it on and throw it away when done- no muss, no fuss. Cloth diapers are popular because of the comfort factor. They are soft and if worn thick- you almost sink into them. The down side is maintenance. You have the constant washing and drying. If you don't have your own washer, it can get ugly quick. So the question is what is more important to you? Is it comfort or ease of use. Your answer will tell you which way to go.
